ChromaHub – Color Toolkit is a macOS application developed by Antonio Yee. The app helps you store, organize, and manage color palettes and collections locally on your Mac.
This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information. The core principle is simple: ChromaHub keeps your color data on your device and does not send it to developer-controlled servers.
Information We Store and Access
ChromaHub is designed to minimize data collection and keep everything local:
- Color data and collections: The app stores your color palettes, collections, color values (such as HEX, RGB, HSB, HSL), names, tags, and related metadata in a local database on your Mac.
- App settings: ChromaHub may store preferences such as theme, layout, language, and other UI settings locally so the app can remember how you like to work.
- Backup files: When you create a backup, ChromaHub generates a single file in a proprietary, app-specific format that contains your color library. This file is stored only in the location you choose (for example, a folder on your Mac, an external drive, or a cloud folder such as iCloud Drive). The app does not automatically upload backups to any server controlled by the developer.
- Purchase information (one-time purchase): ChromaHub is a paid app with a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. Payment is processed by Apple. The developer does not receive or store your full payment details (such as credit card numbers).
- No analytics or tracking: ChromaHub does not include third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking tools. We do not collect usage events, build profiles, or track you across apps or websites.
- No accounts: The app does not require you to create an account or sign in. There is no user profile or server-side account managed by the developer.
How Your Data Is Used
Any data handled by ChromaHub is used exclusively to provide the app’s core features:
- Local color data is used to display your collections, palettes, and color details within the app.
- App settings are used to remember your preferred layout, theme, and other options between sessions.
- Backup files are created when you choose to export your library, so you can restore it later or move it to another Mac.
- Purchase status from the App Store is used only to verify that the app has been legitimately purchased and to unlock full functionality.
We do not use your information for targeted advertising, behavioral tracking, or selling data to third parties.
Third-Party Services
ChromaHub relies primarily on Apple’s platform services:
- Apple (macOS & Mac App Store) – for purchase processing, application distribution, system security, sandboxing, and any storage or sync services you choose to use (for example, iCloud Drive).
The app does not use a separate backend or cloud service controlled by the developer to store your colors or backups.
Your Choices and Controls
- Managing your library: You can create, edit, and delete collections and colors at any time within the app. When you delete data from ChromaHub, it is removed from the app’s local database.
- Backups and restore: You choose when to create a backup file and where to store it. If you save backups in a cloud folder (such as iCloud Drive, Dropbox, etc.), they are managed by that service under its own terms and settings.
- Uninstalling the app: If you remove ChromaHub from your Mac, the app and its local data are removed according to macOS behavior. Backup files that you manually saved will remain wherever you stored them.
Security
ChromaHub relies on macOS security features and sandboxing to protect your local data. Your color library is stored on your Mac and is not automatically transmitted to servers controlled by the developer.
Although we follow platform best practices, no system can be completely risk-free. We recommend keeping your operating system up to date and protecting your Mac with a strong password and, where applicable, encryption (such as FileVault).
Children’s Privacy
ChromaHub – Color Toolkit is intended for general use by designers, developers, and other professionals, and is not specifically directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data Retention
Your color data is stored only on your Mac and in any backup files you explicitly create. We do not maintain server-side copies of your library.
Purchase records and billing details are retained and managed by Apple as part of your Mac App Store account. The developer does not keep a separate database of your personal payment information.
Data Sharing and Transfers
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. The only information processed externally is what is necessary for Apple to handle purchases, updates, and any cloud storage services you choose to enable.
Aside from Apple’s systems and any storage providers you personally use (such as iCloud Drive or other cloud folders you select), ChromaHub does not intentionally transfer your data to other third parties.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements to ChromaHub, changes in macOS capabilities, or new legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date below.
